Process Overview
The recruitment process we use for the Graduate Training Scheme has been designed to be as swift and straightforward as possible. We appreciate that graduates have a great deal of demands on their time but we feel it is important that the recruitment process gives you a thorough insight into what it would be like to work for Reed.
We are open to applications all year round and successful applicants join the scheme in either January or September. The recruitment process should typically take around four weeks from start to finish, although this will in large part depend upon your availability to attend an assessment centre and interview.
Stage 1 - Online Application Form
In addition to capturing your personal details we also give you the opportunity to explain why you are interested in working for Reed and what qualities you can bring to the business. We appreciate nobody likes filling in overly long applications, so we have tried to keep ours as succinct as possible. We only ask you for information we really need in order to ensure you receive a fair assessment. You will also be asked to upload an up-to-date copy of your CV. Stage 2 - Psychometric Testing
If you successfully pass our initial screening we will invite you to sit some online psychometric tests. These include a numerical and verbal reasoning test. We use these tests as we have found a close link between performance in these tests and performance once in the organisation. We use very similar tests when making senior managerial appointments, and as we hope you will be capable of reaching this level we expect you to perform to an equally high standard.
Stage 3 - Assessment Centre
All Graduate Trainees in Reed must be capable of working in an operational role. To ensure this is something you would be successful in and enjoy, we ask you to attend the same assessment centre that all our recruitment consultants or personal advisers go through as part of their recruitment process. During this assessment centre you will undertake various exercises including role plays and written exercises. Full details of what to expect in the assessment centre will be provided to you before the event.
Stage 4 - Director Interview
Should you pass the assessment centre you will progress to the final stage of the selection process, an interview with one of our Managing Directors. You will be assessed against the competencies identified above, but the interview is also intended to provide you with an insight into what it would be like to work for Reed. You will also be able to ask any questions you may have about Reed. If you are successful at this stage we will offer you a place on the GTS.
