When you apply to the GTS you will be required to choose what role you would like to undertake for your first placement. At present we are offering graduates the opportunity to join us as either:
- a Recruitment Consultant in one of our specialist recruitment offices
- a Telesales Executive for the UK's leading online job board
- an Employment Adviser working on welfare to work programmes
The following information should help you decide which option is right for you:
Working as a Recruitment Consultant
As a Recruitment Consultant you will be responsible for developing business opportunities with current and potential clients in a specific business sector. This will involve a mix of sales calls, client visits, presentations, and networking events. You will also be responsible for attracting the candidates you need to fill your clients' roles and managing them through the recruitment process.
In order to be a success in this role you will need to have strong communication skills, the ability to keep up to date with developments in your business sector, and resilience. Whilst the job is not easy, many of our graduates have been immensely successful and have the rewards to prove it!
Working as a Telesales Executive
As a Telesales Executive you will be responsible for selling the offerings of reed.co.uk to other businesses through making outbound sales calls. Alongside bringing new clients to reed.co.uk's portfolio you will need to manage relationships with current clients to ensure that they make maximum use of reed.co.uk's services.
In order to be a success in this role you will need to have excellent communication skills, enjoy working to targets, have excellent negotiation skills, and a desire to succeed. This job is very sales focussed and would suit graduates eager to build a career in media sales.
Working as an Employment Adviser
An Employment Adviser is responsible for helping the long-term unemployed back into work. It’s a challenging and diverse role but also highly rewarding that offers a real sense of achievement. After all, you’ll be supporting disadvantaged individuals to achieve positive and lasting change in their lives. There are many ways you’ll help your clients into work – referring them onto training courses for example, as well as assisting with jobsearch techniques and seeking out opportunities.
Key to success here will be your ability to quickly build a rapport with those who join our programmes. You’ll need empathy of course, but also the ability to motivate people, question their assumptions and sometimes change their perception of working. In addition, the ability to remain focussed on meeting and exceeding your targets for placements, along with strong organisational skills and an assertive and resilient approach.
